I would think that the larger it is, the more difficult it would be. I am just getting ready to build my first boat, so maybe that isn't the case, but it sounds reasonable to me. I've helped my uncle with two boats so far and really want to try to build my own now. I know in my case, I don't have any place large enough to build a large boat, unless I used my uncle's place.
I guess it depends on what you want to use it for. Not much good building something small if you plan to entertain lots of envious friends, right? The bad thing about bigger custom builds has got to be the increased costs.
